EngineNProp is engine and propeller performance software intended for use by aircraft owners, aircraft maintenance technicians, ground school instructors, and aviation maintenance educators.

Use EngineNProp to:

- simulate manufacturers engine performance charts for direct-drive, general aviation engines using constant speed propellers.

- simulate classical propeller efficiency charts.

- estimate the net thrust power from an engine and propeller combination.

- explore the effect on performance of changes in key operating conditions and propeller variables.

- estimate the activity factor of a propeller planform.

With EngineNProp, the manual procedure for interpreting sea level and altitude performance is automated and applied to classical propeller efficiency charts. The user can explore the performance of an engine and propeller combination with changes in engine manifold pressure, RPM, altitude, airspeed, temperature at altitude, propeller diameter, number of blades, and blade planform. A tool is included by which the activity factor of a propeller can be estimated using measurements of its planform shape. The user has a choice of using either English or metric units.

EngineNProp comes with the data built-in for simulating each of five example engines having a BHP rating in the range of 160 to 240 horsepower and for several propeller shapes used in historical wind tunnel research. Methods are also included for the user to:

- add engines of comparable rating for which manufacturers engine performance charts may be available in a similar format, and,

- determine and apply the key characteristics of a manufactured propeller.

EngineNProp is document-based, so engine and propeller data are saved to a file. The user can also save sets of sets of operating conditions to aid engine and propeller comparison and analysis.

EngineNProp is for educational use only and is not intended to be a substitute for the manufacturers operating manual. For Apple computers using OSX 10.8 or higher.
